Choose the right vehicle for your event. Yes, you get different types of limousines. Find out what the company has to offer and decide which will suit you best. A conventional limousine will provide the elegance you are looking for at your wedding, but a Hummer might just be what the girls need for a trendy bachelorette party.
Plan the little details. Tell the limousine company a few details about the event. Many companies specialize in catering for your needs. You will need to tell them approximately (if not exactly) how many people will need a ride. You will also need to know the number of hours you are going to use the service. Tell them if it’s only going to be a “drop-off” or a round trip. These are all factors that will be taken into account regarding the amount you will pay for the service. Also make sure that your quote includes all the fees and that you will not be surprised by any hidden costs along the way.
Don’t forget about refreshments. Ask the company if they offer refreshments on the ride. Make sure that you know what they offer and what this will cost. If you prefer to take your own beverages on the limo ride, find out if the company permits this and if you have to pay an extra fee. This is after all part of the exciting adventure – starting the party on the way to the festivities.
Get your groove on. Some companies do offer musical entertainment, but if they do not or if you have specific music in mind, feel free to ask them if you could bring your own. Be sure to discuss this when you book your limousine, so that you do not have any illusions about your expectations.
You need to plan your route carefully. Will there be any specific stops you might want to take along the way, or are you going straight to your venue? You might want to notify the company so that they can let the driver know about your planned stops, or even a specific “scenic route” that you might want to take.
Make sure you know every detail about your invoice. Make sure that you understand their charges and payment structure. Ask them, specifically, if there will be extra charges for fuel, entertainment, decorations (if you require any), refreshments etc. Each company has its own predetermined price structure, don’t assume the company with the lowest rate will give you everything the more expensive company charges. Ask, ask, ask and if you are still in doubt, ask again. Any company worth using will answer your questions without hesitation. Do not be caught off-guard.
Calculate the tip for the driver into your budget. Normally a driver would be tipped for his services. To calculate a normal tip, you would take the base price and tip around 18 - 20%. It is advised, however, to find out from the company if the driver’s tip is already added to the price or not.
