You have this amazing event planned, and now only need the cherry on top: luxury rides for your guests to and from the occasion. Not only are they being pampered, but you get the added assurance that your guests are in good hands.
Regardless of your event, renting a limousine to get you there always adds that little bit “extra”. A luxury every guest will certainly appreciate. Weddings, sport events, driving around tourists, concerts, bachelor and bachelorette parties, Bat Mitzvah or Bar Mitzvah, Quinceañera, 21st birthday celebrations, you name the occasion and there is a reason to arrive in style. You know a limo is perfect for the event, but how do you know that you are paying the right price? Where does all the “extras” hide?
Limousine companies have their own predetermined rates. This means that you will not easily get two companies that offer the same value for the same price. Not all companies have the same rate system and here is where you need to be on the lookout. A lot of companies offer six-person limousines for anything between $65 and $100 an hour. If you prefer bigger vehicles such as Hummers or party buses, the price jumps significantly. Pricing is also heavily influenced by the amenities offered in the specific vehicle. Think wet bars, laser light shows, big screen televisions, decorations that is specifically done for your event, etc. All the little bits that you want extra get added to your account. On the lighter side, most limousine companies also offer noteworthy packages suited to your event. This might also include added services. By looking at packages, tailored to your needs, you might be able to save a lot.
How do you stay out of possible “hidden costs”-traps?
Make sure you know exactly where your money goes. Do not simply accept a quotation without knowing what is included. There is a specific reason your rental company will ask you your exact route, since fuel costs will have to be added to the hours. You will be charged for the full time you requested. Not only the fifteen minute ride from your pick-up point to drop-off and then later that evening’s pick-up – the clock is running while you are enjoying your event and the limo driver is patiently waiting outside for you. To avoid this cost, book two limousines – one for taking you to the event and another one for after. Not only do you save on billed hours, the limo driver can do other rides instead of hanging around outside the venue.
When do they start billing you? Ask the company if the hour starts when they leave the garage or when they leave your pick-up point. This will influence your invoice.
Bring your own refreshments. Ask the company what the costs are for refreshments if you require this and if you can bring your own. Ask the company what their policy is regarding spills and stains and what they charge. Make sure you budget for this “just in case” extra. The same goes for smoking. Never smoke in a rented vehicle unless you are given permission to do so and expect to pay extra for the clean-up afterward. The next passengers want the same as you: a clean, fresh limousine to take them to their destination.
